Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing food preparation and service, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Previous experience in restaurant management, hospitality, or hotel settings is highly valued. The Food Service Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring operational efficiency while fostering a positive team environment.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily food service operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet established recipes and customer expectations
- Manage POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling procedures
- Lead, train, and evaluate team members; conduct interviews and assist with hiring processes
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Monitor inventory levels; assist with ordering supplies and managing stock levels
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety within the kitchen and dining areas
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Collaborate with management on menu planning, special events, and promotional activities
- Enforce restaurant policies related to hospitality, serving protocols, and alcohol service if applicable
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a food service or restaurant setting for minimum 2 to 3 years
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS; cash handling experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Experience in restaurant management or hospitality environments such as hotels or bars is advantageous
- Knowledge of food industry standards including kitchen operations, customer service excellence, and food handling regulations
- Prior experience with interviewing staff or participating in hiring processes is a plus
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of service
