Job description:
Position – Certified Industrial Painter of Metal Parts & Tanks
On behalf of our client, we are looking for experienced candidates to work as a Painter of Metal parts & Tanks. Our client is one of the leaders in the manufacturing industry with expertise in offering a full range of carbon and stainless steel fabrication services for multiple industries.
This position is for the morning shift - 6 am to 3 pm( Monday to Friday),
Position Description:
Surface Preparation: Clean, degrease, sand, blast (sandblasting/shot-blasting),or each metal surfaces to remove rust, mill scale, and oils.
Mixing Coatings: Read blueprints, paint technical/Specification data sheets ,and mixing formulas to accurately measure and blend industrial paints.
Select appropriate paint or mix paints using automated paint mixing equipment according to a predetermined formula. Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint
Operate or tend equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare items for application of paint.
Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes
Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment
May prepare and apply stencils, computer-generated decals or other decorative items on finished products.

Safety & Physical Demands. : Must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) like respirators and hazmat suits, follow the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and handle lifting, operation of OH crane and prolonged standing
Quality Control:
Working knowledge of curing oven or tend curing ovens but not essential.
Inspect dry-film thickness using gauges, and check for runs, pinholes, or surface defects.
Equipment Maintenance: Clean, flush, and maintain spray nozzles, hoses,booths, and recovery systems.
Clean and maintain painting area , ventilation, compressed air etc.
Education: High School or equivalent, capable of understanding, speaking,& writing English & basic Math.
Certification: Certification of Qualification administered by Skill Trades of Ontario.
Experience : Completed 3 years in Skilled Trade of Ontario certification of Apprentice program.
Working experience in NACE certified Inspection program will be preferred
Pay: $24.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
