Ashwood Glen is a dynamic childcare and private school community in Burlington, offering a unique Montessori-to-IB educational pathway from Toddler through Grade 8. Our Children’s House program provides a warm, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where young children are encouraged to explore, develop independence, and build a lifelong love of learning.
We are currently seeking a caring, energetic, and collaborative Early Years Montessori Assistant Teacher to join our Children’s House team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Montessori Teacher in implementing daily classroom routines and learning activities
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, clean, and prepared Montessori environment
- Support children with classroom transitions, self-care routines, and daily activities
- Observe and guide children using positive behaviour support and respectful communication
- Assist with classroom setup, material preparation, and organization of learning spaces
- Support outdoor play, playground supervision, and student safety
- Help maintain classroom cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Foster warm and professional relationships with children, colleagues, and families
- Assist during staff absences and support broader school operations when needed
- Follow all licensing, health and safety, and school policies and procedures
Qualifications & Skills
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- Montessori experience or training considered an asset
- Passion for working with young children and supporting early development
- Warm, patient, and team-oriented approach
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check and First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
