Overview
We are seeking to fill an on‑site leadership role based primarily at the Puslinch Plant, overseeing day‑to‑day operations across both the Puslinch and Burlington locations. The position is responsible for production planning and workflow across all heat‑treating and coating products, ensuring safe work practices, consistent quality standards, and the efficient use of equipment and resources.
This role provides direct leadership to the Operations Team, Planning Team, and Quality Control Team, strengthening coordination and operational performance across both sites. It also works closely with Sales and Finance to support better forecasting, alignment, and decision‑making.
As a key member of the Management Team, the Director of Operations will contribute to long‑term strategic planning, support capital investment initiatives, and help drive sustainable sales growth as we continue to grow our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure shops are staffed efficiently, employees are engaged
- Develops production processes to streamline WON orders from Sales/Contract Review/Kick-off meetings as needed
- Ensures “clean executable orders” - Makes sure jobs are clearly defined to operations including material, labor hours and overall clarity of job from start to invoicing
- Investigates low-margin jobs, high labor costs, and high material costs, comparing estimates to actuals
- Drives invoicing to meet monthly targets of completed Jobs
- Monitors and coaches on proper job creation and ERP usage
- Supports or directly resolve customer dissatisfaction
- Monitors incoming expedited jobs to meet customer expectations
- Oversees and coaches Blue Streak/operational ERP
- Manages Operations, Planning and Quality Control to meet ISO and other quality requirements
- Develop, monitor, and achieve KPI targets across production, quality, safety, and efficiency
- Manages the weekly production meetings to meet invoicing targets
- Manages production schedule with Planning/Operations to meet productivity targets
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in engineering, operations management, business, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality systems, and maintenance best practices in an industrial setting
- 7+ years of operations leadership in service, manufacturing or related metal/coating environments
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience is an asset
- Strong operations management experience, including production planning, process optimization, and implementation of continuous improvement practices
- Advanced analytical skills to interpret operational data, define KPIs, troubleshooting issues, and support data-informed decision-making
- Proven team management capabilities, including leading supervisors, fostering a safety culture, coaching for performance, and building cross-functional collaboration
- Customer service orientation with the ability to support client requirements, manage expectations, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (only candidates meeting this requirement will be considered)
Pay: $100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
