Job Description: Dishwasher
The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is looking for our next great colleague to take on the role of Dishwasher within our Culinary Brigade. Key Responsibilities:
- Wash all pots, bowls and utensils, air-dried and returned to their appropriate storage areas.
- Sort, soak, and wash/re-wash silverware.
- Ensure clean wares are stored in appropriate areas.
- Use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes.
- Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing.
- Wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Empty garbage containers at 75% capacity and reline the containers.
- Immediately discard all broken glass and china.
- Ensure that floors are mopped and swept on an on-going basis throughout the shift.
- Remove racks and all other removable parts from ovens and clean thoroughly.
- Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock.
- Break down cardboard boxes and place them and other recyclables in the recycle bin.
- Perform all other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma / G.E.D. equivalent.
- Fluent English communication skills, written and verbal.
- Food Safe certification.
- A team player with proven success in relationship building.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 22.5 kilograms (50 pounds) without assistance.
- Capable of frequent bending, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Previous experience as a Dishwasher in a hotel or restaurant is considered an asset.
- Available to work late hours including overnight shifts, as well as weekends and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.03-$34.71 per hour
