Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join steel fabrication company. The ideal candidate will ensure that materials are handled efficiently and safely. This position involves operating various types of heavy equipment and performing tasks related to shipping and receiving, order picking, and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and clamp trucks to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments with precision while adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilize a warehouse management system to track inventory levels and manage orders effectively.
- Perform order picking tasks, ensuring accuracy in fulfilling customer orders.
- Conduct regular inspections of heavy equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus, particularly in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and cranes.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
- Experience with order picking and using warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- A background in construction or heavy equipment operation is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards in all operations.
Schedule
- Monday-Friday
- 7:30am-5pm
- Weekly pay
- Overtime after 44 hours a week
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Experience:
- Materials handling: 1 year (required)
- Overhead crane: 1 year (preferred)
