Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental software, and a strong understanding of dental terminology. Experience with electronic dental records and office management systems is highly valued. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering exceptional patient service.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage front desk operations
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Dentrix and ABELDENT.
- Verify patient insurance information and process billing accordingly
- Maintain accurate patient records within electronic dental records systems
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
- Collect payments, co-pays, and handle financial transactions accurately
- Manage patient check-in/check-out procedures, including updating personal information and medical history
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and correspondence
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
- Collaborate with dental staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a medical/dental office setting preferred
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix and ABELDENT is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and electronic dental records systems
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Office experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and billing procedures is a plus
- Professional appearance and friendly demeanor to provide outstanding patient service
