Outside Sales Representative – Eastern Ontario

We are looking for an Outside Sales Representative in the Ontario region, focusing within the boundary areas of Hwy 12 East to Hwy 416, Hwy 7 North to Pembroke, to drive sales growth and maintain existing client accounts. This is a home-based office position, from where the ideal candidate will operate when not on the road 4 days per week. This position reports directly to the Eastern Ontario Sales Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Developing potential new accounts
- Maintaining and fostering relationships with existing accounts
- Communicating with manager regarding changes in marketplace i.e. pricing and product
- Gathering market intel to better understand the territory and communicate to their manager and be able to adapt to changes
- Ensuring customers are informed on product changes and/or new product offerings
- Inspecting and reporting on warranty claims
- Developing territory and work with branch location to improve profitability and market position
- Reporting on sales activities with customers
- Working in a team environment and ensuring customer needs are met in an efficient manner that achieve company goals
- Completing required reports in a timely manner, update customer base as required
- Attending sales meetings as required
- Completing related safety training and adhere to company policies
- Ensuring effective service to customers while helping BMI to be efficient sales targets
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 3-5 years of industry sales experience
- Industry knowledge of exterior building products
- Exceptional sales skills – prospecting, building and maintaining client relationships, negotiation, presentation and closing
- Ability to meet sales targets
- Superior customer service - professional demeanour, able to approach situations diplomatically, follow up in a timely manner
- Effective communication skills
- Self-motivated, confident
- Well-versed in Excel, Office suite ERP proprietary software and Salesforce an asset
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Flexible, able to quickly adapt to changing needs of the business
