What You'll Be Doing
As a Metal Shop Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting our roofing and service teams by producing and preparing custom sheet metal products used on commercial roofing projects.
Responsibilities include:
Metal Shop
· Assemble sheet metal products based on sketches and specifications for Production, External Customers and Service Department projects
· Troubleshoot and design custom sheet metal fabrications with internal/external customers
· Input typical details into the CNC brake for easier recall on future orders
· Assist with the operation and fabrication of rolled sheet roofing products (standing seam machine)
· Assist with inventory monitoring of sheet metal and hardware items
· Receive and stock all orders utilizing the forklift, ensuring no discrepancies between the purchase order and packing slips
· Recycle material when able to be re-sold
· Build relationships with co-workers, customers and suppliers
· Package material on pallets as necessary
· Performing quality checks to ensure accuracy and workmanship standards are met
· Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
· Supporting month-end inventory counts and material reconciliation
· Building positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, and suppliers
· Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to help make the shop more efficient and productive
· Site visits to review install requirements, if required
- Other duties as assigned by Management

· Clean and store tools and equipment

Qualifications
- High School or GED equivalent
- Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, warehouse, construction, shipping/receiving, inventory control, or material handling is considered an asset
- Math skills, with the ability to calculate fractions daily
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Competent computer skills (outlook, excel, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license and clean abstract (Required)
- Experience operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment - such as forklifts, zoom boom
- Ability to lift and move heavy loads occasionally and light loads of materials safely throughout the day
- Will be required to get class 3 license and forklift ticket within first 6 months of employment
Schedule
- 40 hours 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Occasional overtime opportunities

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
