We are seeking physiatrists to join our team at Royal Inland Hospital. As a Level II trauma centre, services are highly developed to address complex polytrauma, brain injury, stroke, and post-intensive care rehabilitation. Broad outpatient services and an ambulatory PM&R clinic are integrated with allied health colleagues in speech-language pathology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and orthotics and prosthetics.
The opportunities include a PM&R focus in EMG and trauma, with a fully accredited neurodiagnostic lab. A second PM&R focus is neurorehabilitation with the Stroke Unit, Stroke Team, and Rehabilitation Ward. A third PM&R focus is general medical inpatient rehabilitation, including geriatric and complex medical cases. We also have outpatient clinics for inpatient aftercare, musculoskeletal consultations, and interventional spasticity management.
University affiliations and a culture of ongoing learning provide excellent opportunities for professional growth. Commuting to larger centres is easy, and online support is highly developed and readily available. Leadership development opportunities are available through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program.
We have a supportive network of PM&R specialists in British Columbia and Western Canada. Our national association, the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (CAPM&R), is active, inclusive, and supportive.
The successful candidate must have a strong interest in and the ability to work in all areas of physical medicine and rehabilitation practice. Locum opportunities are available throughout the recruitment process for those who are already eligible to work in Canada, and we look forward to welcoming you to our team.
