Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional guest services, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating arrangements. This role is essential in delivering a positive first impression and maintaining high standards of hospitality within our establishment. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, along with excellent communication and phone etiquette skills.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, providing information about the restaurant or hotel services
- Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess station
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service flow
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues with courtesy and professionalism
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment that reflects the establishment’s hospitality standards
- Support other front-of-house duties as needed to enhance guest experience
Skills
- Strong guest services and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Experience in serving, hospitality, or food service environments preferred
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems like Micros POS or similar software
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Phone etiquette proficiency for handling reservations and guest inquiries
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Prior restaurant or hotel experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
