Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier/Kitchen Helper to join our vibrant food service team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, providing excellent customer service while supporting kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong multitasking skills, and a positive attitude. Prior food industry or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure success in this role.
Duties
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash and perform basic math calculations for change and totals
- Assist with food preparation and kitchen duties, including basic cooking, plating, and sanitation tasks
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in both the dining area and kitchen
- Serve customers with friendly and professional service, upselling menu items when appropriate
- Ensure food safety standards are followed during food handling and preparation
- Manage time effectively to handle busy periods while maintaining quality service
- Support team members in maintaining a clean, organized work environment
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
Skills
- Experience in food service, cashiering, or restaurant environments preferred
- Knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Good time management skills to balance cashier duties with kitchen support tasks
- Food preparation skills and kitchen experience are advantageous
- Ability to upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and sales performance
