Job Summary - FORKLIFT NIGHTS
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of industrial forklift equipment to move, load, unload, and organize materials within warehouses, production facilities, and distribution environments. This role is essential to maintaining accurate inventory flow, supporting production and shipping operations, and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Material Handling & Equipment Operation
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles to move materials, goods, and equipment.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, containers, and storage areas.
- Transport palletized materials and supplies throughout the facility as required.
Inventory & Warehouse Support
- Assist with inventory control, including proper placement and organization of materials.
- Support order picking and staging activities as needed.
- Ensure accurate handling and movement of goods within the warehouse system.
Equipment Maintenance & Inspection
- Perform routine pre-operation and post-operation inspections of forklift equipment.
- Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to supervision.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
- Maintain awareness of workplace hazards, particularly in cold storage environments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Valid forklift safety certification.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Basic mathematical and computer skills considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Reliable work ethic with a positive, safety-focused attitude.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance as required)
- Extended periods of walking, standing, and operating equipment
- Work in cold storage environments (up to -20°F, PPE provided)
- Average work week of 40 hours, with overtime as required
- Physically demanding role requiring sustained focus and alertness

Compensation
At Chapman’s, compensation is guided by a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes and rewards individual contributions.
Wages
$24.75 per hour,
