Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Environmental Service Manager to join our facilities Management Team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and reliability of our retirement home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking, home renovation, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, along with qualities to complete maintenance activities effectively. Prior experience and familiarity with property management, housekeeping, project completion and risk prevention an asset. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where technical expertise and customer service excellence are essential.
Duties
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facilities, and infrastructure
- Safety Walkthrough: Check for hazards like wet floors, burnt-out lights in corridors, loose handrails, and properly closed fire doors.
- Morning Inspection: Review the emergency call system, check exterior entrance doors for security, and verify all exits are unobstructed.
- Facility Temperature Check: Monitor and log temperatures for heating/cooling systems to ensure comfort.
- Work Order Management: Prioritize urgent resident requests (e.g., plumbing, heating). Small cosmetic repairs and assembling furniture, housewares etc for residents as needed.
- Redo and renew apartments as they become vacant so that we can rent them within 10-30 days of vacancy.
- Daily Maintenance Pager/Radio: Carry a walkie talkie for immediate maintenance needs.
- Housekeeping oversight and management.
- Common Area Upkeep: Spot-check public bathrooms, lounges, and dining areas, performing quick repairs or cleaning, painting and touch ups as required.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and efficiently
- Experience in facilities maintenance within a manufacturing environment is highly desirable
- Home repair and general maintenance an asset.

Pay: $18.00-$26.00 per hour
