In addition to being an iconic Cheese and Fine Food Store located in a historic building in downtown Collingwood, our Wholesale Division ships cheese and gourmet products to stores across Ontario.
We are looking for someone to support our growing wholesale business - which involves a lot of receiving shipments, filling orders and then shipping outbound.
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Team Member to join our team and help us continue to be a leading provider . This is an entry-level position with room to grow.
This role is essential in ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of goods, supporting overall operations, and maintaining inventory integrity. As a small business we will also need you to support our retail operations (serving customers, re-stocking shelves) during busy times.
The ideal candidate will have experience in similar roles and shipping & receiving processes, with the ability to learn quickly and work well with teammates, as well as the ability to perform deliveries to local customers, using company vehicles.
Duties
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities and inspect for damages
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders accurately
- Load and unload trucks
- Assist in taking accurate inventories of on-hand merchandise
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during all shipping and receiving activities
- Organize storage space for optimal storage and accessibility
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist retail operations by serving customers, stocking shelves etc etc
Skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and potentially in adverse conditions - snow/rain etc
- Ability to perform basic math for inventory counts and order calculations
- Skilled in order picking, packing, loading & unloading shipments accurately
- Good physical stamina for lifting loads and working on your feet throughout shifts
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Prior warehouse experience preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific systems and equipment skills
You will also be driving a company vehicle to make deliveries, so we require a valid G license and clean drivers abstract. You may be asked to perform a driving test before being hired.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.29-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
