Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Supervisor/Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food preparation and presentation. The Kitchen Supervisor/Manager will play a vital role in fostering a collaborative team atmosphere while ensuring efficient and smooth restaurant operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including cooks, food handlers, and serving personnel to ensure efficient workflow
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Manage food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices in compliance with health regulations
- Ensure adherence to recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines
- Train new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety standards, and service expectations
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement of ingredients and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times
- Assist in menu planning and development to enhance customer satisfaction
- Lead by example in providing excellent customer service during serving hours when necessary
- Enforce safety policies and ensure all team members follow proper procedures
Requirements
- Proven supervising or management experience within the food service or restaurant industry
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety standards
- Experience with restaurant management systems and team management tools
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Knowledge of health regulations related to food safety and sanitation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with staff and serve customers effectively
- Prior experience in hospitality or the food industry is highly desirable
- Leadership qualities combined with a passion for delivering outstanding dining experiences
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including peak hours during service times
- Prior experience in Break Fast restaurant would be added advantage (Smittys,Dennys,OEB)
Pay: $15.00-$21.00 per hour
