Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Hygiene Coordinator to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between patients and clinical staff, ensuring smooth operations at the front desk and supporting the hygiene department. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental software, and a strong understanding of dental and medical terminology. The Dental Hygiene Coordinator will manage patient scheduling, maintain electronic medical records, and facilitate a welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient appointments and coordinate scheduling for dental hygiene services using the Tracker software system.
- Greet patients at the front desk, answer multi-line phone systems, and handle patient inquiries professionally
- Coordinating communication between patients, hygienists, dentists
- Assist with administrative tasks such as verifying insurance, processing payments, and managing patient documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding hygiene appointments , appointment reminders, and post-visit instructions
- Collaborate with dental receptionists and other office staff to ensure seamless office operations
- Uphold infection control protocols and PHIPA laws and assist in maintaining a clean, organized office environment.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental practice management software Tracker
- Strong knowledge of Dental terminology relevant to dentistry and general healthcare
- Experience working as a dental receptionist or in a dental/medical office setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance providers
- Prior administrative experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
