Position Summary
The Manager of Community Outreach and Engagement is responsible for strengthening relationships with members, volunteers, donors, community partners, and prospective supporters. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role develops and implements strategies that increase participation, volunteer leadership, membership growth, donor growth, program attendance, and community visibility. The position requires oversight of the NCJWC Toronto CRM/database management and supports engagement, stewardship, fundraising, and awareness campaigns as required.
Core Responsibilities
Community Outreach and Engagement
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit, engage, and retain members and volunteers.
- Foster meaningful engagement opportunities aligned with NCJWC Toronto's mission.
- Support existing programs and oversee the development of new initiatives and programs as approved by the Executive Director and Board.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, synagogues, schools, and partner agencies.
CRM & Database Management
- Serve as the primary administrator and champion of the organization's CRM/database.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timely maintenance of member, volunteer, donor, and stakeholder records.
- Develop and maintain processes for data entry, segmentation, reporting, and record management.
- Generate reports and analytics to support strategic decision-making, engagement initiatives, fundraising efforts, and Board reporting.
- Train staff and volunteers on CRM best practices and database protocols.
- Ensure compliance with privacy legislation and data management policies.
Event and Campaign Oversight
- Coordinate planning and project management for organizational events, volunteer initiatives, educational programs, and community outreach activities.
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, committees, and external vendors to ensure successful execution.
- Support the Executive Director in development of membership and fundraising campaign as assigned.
- Monitor campaign and event performance, participation, and outcomes, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Develop timelines, budgets, communications plans, and post-event evaluations.
Communications & Outreach
- Contribute to and collaborate on newsletters, email marketing, social media, website content, and promotional materials.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Manager of Communications to develop targeted communications strategies to increase engagement and participation.
- Support storytelling and impact reporting that reflects the organization's mission and achievements.
Administration & Organizational Support
- Track and report on engagement metrics, volunteer participation, campaign results, and event outcomes.
- Prepare reports for the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and committees.
- Provide support for cross-functional projects and organizational priorities as required.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in nonprofit engagement, volunteer management, membership services, fundraising support, or community relations.
- Self starter and team player.
- Familiarity with and interest in the Jewish community of Toronto.
- Demonstrated experience managing a CRM/database (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Donor Perfect, Boomerang, or similar).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Google Workspace, email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact.) online event registration systems and virtual meeting platforms
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage data to drive engagement.
- Proven project management experience overseeing campaigns, events, and stakeholder communications.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with and interest in Toronto's Jewish community and beyond.
Further Details
· This is a one-year contract position with possibility of renewal.
· Salary: $70,000-$75,000 annually
· Hybrid position, with in-office and occasional work from home
· Occasional evening and weekend work is required to support meetings and community events
· Includes two weeks of paid vacation plus statutory holidays.
· The NCJWC Toronto office is closed on all Jewish holy days (Yom tov), and we support early office closure on Friday to observe the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat).
