We're looking for an experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team of talented and passionate cooks. The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and must have a commitment to food prep, executing plates up to standards and restaurant industry experience. He or she will also be responsible for maintaining an organized and safe kitchen, as well as communicating effectively with other team members.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food according to customers' needs and preferences.
- Clean up and set up own kitchen station regularly
- Prepare and plate dishes according to restaurant standards and specifications
- Complete daily mise en place and ensure the station is fully prepared before service
- Properly store, label, date, and rotate all food products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
- Assist with preparation for private events, tasting menus, and daily specials
- Work closely with the Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Monitor product quality and communicate shortages or issues to the Chef
- Follow proper food-handling and sanitation procedures
- Assist other kitchen stations when needed during busy service
Qualifications
- Previous professional kitchen experience preferred
- Experience with garde manger, salads, appetizers, charcuterie, or cold preparations is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and presentation
- Good knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Food-handler certification is an asset
