About Home Suite Hope
Home Suite Hope is a not-for-profit organization that supports homeless and/or precariously housed single mother led families on their journey from poverty to stability. We take a complex wraparound, hand-up approach that combines housing support, case management, life skills programming, professional development, and community resources to address the interconnected barriers these families face and help break the cycle of intergenerational poverty.
About the Role
We are looking for an organized, creative, and relationship-driven Events & Program Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This role is central to how Home Suite Hope delivers programming, runs standout events, engages volunteers, and connects with our community. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing event logistics, coordinating with program staff, writing engaging content, and building relationships with sponsors and volunteers.
What You'll Do
Program & Workshop Planning
- Coordinate all Home Suite Hope program workshops and events, including venue, staffing, food and catering, and transportation logistics
- Serve as the day to day point of contact for program staff and case workers on scheduling and logistics
- Manage the client intake process, ensuring a smooth first point of contact for new participants
- Secure facilitators and support the delivery and facilitation of workshop content
Events of All Sizes
- Plan and execute Home Suite Hope's signature events, such as the AGM and Empty Bowls, including leading planning committees where applicable
- Plan and execute additional events of every scale, including leading planning committees where applicable
- Secure event sponsorships and work toward achieving annual fundraising goals
- Coordinate vendors, venues, sponsorships (monetary and in kind), and ticketing where applicable
- Assist with organizing and liaising on third-party events
- Complete and analyze post-event surveys and feedback, and arrange follow-up and stewardship
- Manage the marketing and events budget, including related cost accounting
Volunteer Management
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and posting of volunteer opportunities for individuals and corporate groups
- Manage and organize staff and volunteer involvement in events
- Complete volunteer tracking, including contact information, volunteer hour forms, and appreciation initiatives
- Establish and implement volunteer engagement strategies and partnerships, including with corporate groups
Communications & Digital Engagement
- Lead the development of marketing and communications materials, including social media, booklets, brochures, newsletters, and website content
- Manage social media and digital content, ensuring quality and timely responses
- Write and distribute the organization's newsletter and blog
- Ensure brand consistency across all materials
- Implement marketing strategies to maximize visibility and support donations
- Secure marketing opportunities to increase organizational visibility
- Support community engagement and awareness tied to programs and events
Data & Reporting
- Input donor and event information into the CRM
- Keep the CRM current through quarterly sponsorship and volunteer data reviews
What We're Looking For
- An outgoing, confident relationship-builder who is comfortable soliciting and securing sponsorships from corporations and foundations
- Post-secondary education in nonprofit management, event planning, marketing, communications, or a related field
- Experience coordinating events, programs, volunteers, or fundraising initiatives
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence creating content for social media, newsletters, and marketing materials
- Comfort working with sponsors, donors, vendors, and community partners
- Experience with CRM systems and basic budget or cost tracking
- A valid driver's license (required), with the flexibility to travel to venues and events across the region
- Availability to work some evenings and weekends for events
- A collaborative, adaptable, and community-minded approach to work
- Understanding of the not-for-profit sector is an asset
