Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Redbirds Soccer Head Coach, the Technical Specialist - Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in the delivery of a high-performance men’s soccer program within McGill Athletics & Recreation. This role contributes to the daily training environment, competition preparation, and administrative operations, with a strong emphasis on student-athlete development, performance analysis, and alignment with RSEQ/U SPORTS and McGill standards of excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning and delivery a comprehensive, high-performance training program for the program.

Lead and support video analysis operations, including post-match breakdowns, individual athlete feedback, and opposition scouting reports (pre-scouts) within the RSEQ/U SPORTS context.

Analyze match and training data to identify team and individual performance trends. Prepare and submit detailed reports and actionable insights for coaching staff.

Record match statistics and maintain performance tracking systems during competitions.

Assist in the implementation of tactical game plans and practice objectives.

Oversee the preparation, organization, and distribution of training and match equipment, ensuring required standards are consistently met.

Support team operations on game days, including bench management, communication, and logistics.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
-
Solid knowledge of the soccer sport required at the U SPORTS / RSEQ or equivalent high-performance level

Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a student-centered, academically intensive environment

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and video breakdown capabilities.
- Coaching experience in Quebec, Canada, or internationally is considered an asset.

LSEQ/PLSQ coaching certification required

NCCP Level II Certification (National A or National B Canadian Soccer Association or equivalent) required

Prior coaching experience at an elite/competitive level preferred

Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic

Bilingual in English and French required
***Safe Sport and CCES Anti-doping training and coursework are mandatory
***Selected candidates must successfully pass their criminal background check.
