Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Skidder Operator to join our forestry team. This role involves operating heavy equipment to efficiently harvest and transport timber while ensuring safety and adherence to environmental standards. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, experience with construction or heavy equipment, and a strong commitment to safety and maintenance protocols. Responsibilities
- Operate skidder in a safe and efficient manner
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and GIS technology for mapping, planning, and operational tasks.
- Assist with landscape maintenance activities as needed, including clearing debris and maintaining access roads.
- Follow safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and environmental damage during operations.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and safety checks.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience operating skidded
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Construction experience or background in landscape maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and GIS technology effectively.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus for transportation needs.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to forestry operations and heavy machinery use.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Prior experience with maintenance tasks related to heavy equipment is desirable.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
