Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting store operations, supervising staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. Duties
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales goals and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new staff members.
- Manage payroll processing, scheduling, and time management for staff.
- Handle merchandising duties such as pricing, product placement, and inventory management to maximize sales.
- Operate POS systems efficiently for transactions, returns, and exchanges while ensuring accurate cash handling.
- Assist with purchasing decisions and inventory replenishment to meet customer demand.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff development and performance improvement.
- Monitor store budgets, control expenses, and contribute to sales management strategies.
- Execute marketing initiatives to promote store products and special events.
- Maintain organized records of sales, bookkeeping, and administrative documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and customer service excellence.
Experience
- Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles within a retail environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Proficiency in POS systems, merchandising tools, and basic bookkeeping software.
- Experience in recruiting, training & development, and performance management.
- Knowledge of sales management techniques including pricing strategies and marketing initiatives.
- Ability to handle cash handling accurately and perform math calculations efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, payroll processing, and administrative responsibilities.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional phone etiquette approach.
