As we continue to expand our product lineup and manufacturing capabilities, we’re looking for a Junior Manufacturing Engineer who is eager to learn, work hands-on, and gain real-world experience bringing innovative hardware products from engineering into production.
The Role
We’re looking for a motivated, hands-on individual at the beginning of their engineering career who wants to gain practical experience working with complex electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical products.
This is an ideal opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or someone with 1–2 years of experience who wants exposure to the full hardware production process.
You’ll work directly alongside Robbox’s Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams and gain experience in product assembly, testing, calibration, quality control, troubleshooting, production processes, and continuous improvement.
This is not a purely desk-based engineering position. You’ll be working directly with our products, components, tools, electronics, and production equipment. We’re looking for someone who enjoys understanding how things work, solving problems, and getting their hands dirty.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Support the assembly and production of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical products.
- Assemble and work with PCBs, wiring, connectors, sensors, motors, fasteners, housings, and other precision components.
- Perform product testing, diagnostics, calibration, and quality-control procedures.
- Assist engineers with troubleshooting production issues and identifying potential solutions.
- Support the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, assembly procedures, fixtures, and work instructions.
- Work directly with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering leads to transition products and revisions into production.
- Inspect parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Identify production issues, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve efficiency or product quality.
- Follow engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
- Maintain accurate testing records, production documentation, and technical notes.
- Assist with inventory management and tracking of components, parts, and production materials.
- Help maintain an organized, efficient, and clean production environment.
- Work across engineering, production, supply chain, and management as required to keep projects moving forward.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need years of industry experience. We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, attention to detail, and a genuine willingness to learn.
Ideally, you have:
- A diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
- Recent graduate status or approximately 0–2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in how physical products are designed, assembled, and manufactured.
- Good hand-eye coordination and comfort working with small components and precision tools.
- Basic understanding of electronics and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, or technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to accurately document your work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to learn directly from experienced engineers and team members.
Nice to Have
Experience in any of the following is an asset, but not required:
- Soldering and electronics assembly
- PCB handling and testing
- Crimping, wiring, and connectors
- Motors, sensors, batteries, or embedded electronics
- 3D printing and rapid prototyping
- CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar
- Multimeters and basic electronic testing equipment
- Manufacturing fixtures and jigs
- Quality assurance or product testing
- Inventory or production management systems
- Personal projects involving electronics, robotics, automotive, 3D printing, machining, or other hands-on technical work
Who This Role Is For
This role is especially suited to someone who has recently finished school and is looking for an opportunity to actually build things and gain real engineering experience.
You might not have extensive professional experience yet — and that’s okay.
We’re more interested in finding someone who is technically curious, dependable, hands-on, and eager to learn. If you’re the type of person who takes things apart to understand how they work, builds projects outside of school, enjoys solving technical problems, or simply wants to develop practical engineering skills, you’ll fit well here.
You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with experienced engineers, contribute to real products being manufactured and shipped to customers, and gain exposure to multiple areas of hardware development and production.
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
