Job Summary
Modern Systems Management has been in business as a mechanical controls contractor since 1978. Our service team and construction crews work on projects throughout the province. We are looking to add another member to our accounting team in our Surrey office. The ideal candidate will assist with various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.
Duties Include:
- Weekly Payroll and all associated tasks
- Managing hours and apprentices with SkilledTradesBC
- Managing benefits
- Submitting remittances
- Journal Entries
- Job Costing – including entering estimates and change orders into Quickbooks
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements
- Managing Vehicle Costs
- Answering Phones
- General Accounting Duties
- General HR Duties
- Aiding and expanding our Safety Program
- General Administration Duties
Requirements:
- 1st or 2nd year accounting education preferred.
- Knowledge and Understanding of Full Cycle Accounting.
- Strong foundation within Accounts Payable and Receivables.
- Canadian Payroll Experience.
- One or more years previous accounting experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Extremely proficient with Excel and Quickbooks, great computer skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
