SUMMARY
- Perform AOI daily operations and ensures that the daily AOI Schedule is being met.
- Assist and participate in the daily technical support and operation of the AOI machines.
- Responsible for creating and updating the AOI machine programs with engineering’s support.
- Reports to the Production Leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact with engineering on new programs for production capabilities.
- Maintain the AOI schedule to meet the delivery schedule
- Work with internal/external maintenance personnel and/or technical personnel to maintain an acceptable level of quality and productivity on the AOI Machines
- Run all boards through AOI machine operation
- Ensure board revision and program revision is the same, report anomalies to Production Leader or AOI programmer
- Perform assigned production steps per work instructions
- Ensure 5S is being done at AOI area and is always maintained
- Handle and store materials/boards following ESD guidelines
- Ensure quality standards are maintained all through the production
- Position may involve physical demands such as lifting of heavy objects
- Perform any other relevant tasks to help any other area in production
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Good knowledge of electronic assemblies including through hole and SMT components, drawings and BOMS
- Able to read values and corrects polarity of Surface mount and Through Hole parts
- Experience with IPC Standards with respect to PCB repair
- Proficient in the use related test equipment
- Proficient in the use of a microscope
- Knowledge of quality systems and ESD control
- Ability to read drawings, Bills of Material (BOMS) and schematics
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Certificate or Diploma in Electronics or enrolled in a technical school would be considered an asset
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge an asset
LOCATION - 100% ON-SITE
- The position location is based in Markham, Ontario facilities (Building A at 195 Royal Crest Court and/or Building B at 3930 14th Avenue)
- Incumbent must be open to working at both facilities as business and operational needs dictate
HOURS OF WORK: Night Shift: Monday to Friday 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (may be scheduled for training on days or afternoon shift as needed). Full overnight shifts physically worked are applicable to a $2/hour shift premium. Any other hours worked during training or other business reasons that are not full overnight hours (i.e. 11 pm to 7 am) will not be eligible for the $2/hour shift premium.
