About the Role:
A precision manufacturing shop in Toronto is hiring a skilled CNC Machinist to join a stable, well-equipped team. This is hands-on machining work with real progression — setup, programming, and eventually mentoring.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
- Program or edit toolpaths at the machine and in CAM software
- Select tooling, set offsets, and dial in first-article parts
- Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, and gauges
- Troubleshoot tooling, feeds, speeds, and surface finish issues
- Maintain machines and keep a clean, safe work area
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years hands-on CNC machining experience (mill, lathe, or both)
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
- Comfortable with setups, not just button-pushing
- Precision measurement and quality inspection skills
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in the work
Nice to Have:
- Red Seal 429A General Machinist certification
- CAM software experience (Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, Esprit)
- Control experience: Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Siemens
- Multi-axis (4/5-axis) or Swiss-type experience
- Experience with aluminum, stainless, Inconel, or tool steel
What's In It For You:
- Competitive pay based on real skill, not just tenure
- Full-time, stable hours in a busy shop
- Health and dental benefits
- Clear path from operator → setup → programmer
- Paid training and certification support
- Modern, well-maintained equipment
