Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Suspended Ceiling Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing suspended ceilings in commercial and residential buildings, ensuring precision, safety, and quality. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment. Prior experience in steel stud, blueprint reading, and the use of hand tools is highly desirable. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects and develop specialized skills in ceiling installation and related construction tasks.
Duties
- Measure and mark ceiling layouts according to blueprints or schematics.
- Install suspension systems, including grid frameworks and support structures.
- Cut and fit ceiling tiles or panels to specified dimensions using hand tools.
- Secure ceiling components with appropriate fasteners, ensuring level and alignment.
- Read schematics and blueprints to accurately execute installation plans.
- Assist with restoration or renovation projects involving ceiling systems.
- Coordinate with other trades such as plumbing, electrical, or flooring installers as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety protocols throughout all phases of installation.
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools such as drills, saws, levels, and measuring devices.
- Construction experience with a focus on ceiling systems or general carpentry.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with schematics related to electrical or plumbing integrations within ceiling spaces is a plus.
- Experience in restoration work or construction painting is advantageous.
- Strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety standards are essential for success in this role.
Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites. WHMIS, Fall Protection and First Aid is an asset. Must have own WCB.
