Van Herk Construction Ltd. is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Foreman to lead our construction crew on agricultural building projects. We specialize in constructing agricultural structures from the ground up, including framing, steel roofing, and steel siding installations.
This position is ideal for a skilled carpenter or construction professional who has leadership experience, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can effectively manage a crew, schedules, and job site operations while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise construction crews on agricultural building projects.
- Coordinate daily job site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
- Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications and communicate requirements to crew members.
- Assist with framing, steel siding, steel roofing, and other carpentry tasks as needed.
- Train, mentor, and support crew members to promote skill development and productivity.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure all work meets company standards and project specifications.
- Enforce company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site.
- Identify and resolve job site challenges while minimizing delays and maintaining project schedules.
Skills & Qualifications
- Several years of experience in framing, steel siding, steel roofing, or general carpentry.
- Previous leadership, foreman, or crew supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the shop is required.
