Job Purpose
As a Line Cook, you are a key part of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality menu items with consistency and efficiency. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring every dish meets our standards for quality, presentation, and taste while contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Station Management: Set up, stock, and maintain your assigned station to ensure efficient service.
- Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu, daily features, and seasonal offerings.
- Consistency & Quality: Ensure every dish meets company standards for taste, appearance, portioning, and freshness.
- Inventory & Stock: Assist with stock rotation, ingredient preparation, and communicating inventory needs.
- Cleanliness: Keep your workstation, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas clean, sanitized, and organized.
- Compliance: Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
- Teamwork: Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Creativity: Contribute ideas for menu improvements, daily specials, and seasonal features.
Qualifications
- Education: Culinary training is an asset but not required.
- Experience: At least 1 year of professional line cooking experience preferred.
- Personality: Passionate, reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence.
- Communication: Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Customer Service: Dedicated to preparing food that enhances the guest experience.
- Certification: Food Safe Level 1 or willingness to obtain (preferred).
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Required to operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
- Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (food supplies, boxes, and kitchen equipment).
