About the Opportunity
LRO Staffing is partnering with a well-established, community-focused organization in Ottawa to recruit an Office Administrator for an initial two-month contract, beginning August 4. There is strong potential for the role to be extended or transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit and collaborative environment where the front office serves as the central hub for daily operations, communications, and administrative support. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a people-focused environment and will take pride in helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the office while creating a welcoming and supportive experience for staff, families, visitors, and stakeholders alike.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Serve as a primary point of contact for visitors, families, staff, and stakeholders, providing professional and welcoming front-office support
Manage daily administrative operations including scheduling, communications, attendance tracking, filing, and documentation management
Coordinate meetings, events, and operational logistics while supporting multiple stakeholders across the organization
Respond to inquiries while relaying information accurately and efficiently
Maintain records, emergency contact information, permissions, and related documentation
Support office operations including deliveries, supplies, vendor coordination, catering logistics, and event setup requirements
Assist with frontline support needs and daily operational coordination
Support safety and security processes including visitor management, access systems, and emergency procedures
Maintain organized digital filing systems and shared documentation using Google Workspace and other cloud-based tools
Provide general administrative support to leadership and staff as needed
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
3+ years of administrative experience, ideally within a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the ability to remain composed amid frequent interruptions and changing priorities
Warm, approachable, professional, and service-oriented communication style
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders simultaneously in a highly interactive environment
Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, Gmail) and Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
English proficiency required
Must be able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check

Work Arrangement: Full-time, onsite
Location: Ottawa, ON (free parking available onsite)
Duration: August 4th for approximately two months, potential for extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM - 4:15 PM
Hourly Pay: $24.00 to $26.00
