Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant is a key member of the Finance & Administration Team. You will be responsible for overseeing the integrity of financial data and accounting processes across multiple business systems, ensuring accurate reporting, effective internal controls, timely month-end close activities, and reliable financial information to support business decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the integrity and reconciliation of purchasing, inventory, project management, and accounting systems.
- Oversee reconciliation of CRM, estimating, contract, and ERP data to ensure accurate revenue ad forecast reporting.
- Lead accounting operations for the retail division, including inventory accounting and divisional financial reporting.
- Support payroll administration and related internal controls.
- Prepare and review bank and cash reconciliations.
- Lead monthly account reconciliation processes and support a timely and accurate month-end close.
- Prepare and review vendor account reconciliations and contact vendors when required.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist in the administration of the bill approval system, including approval authority for assigned classes of payables.
- Perform financial analysis, reporting, and special projects for management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- CPA designation (or CPA candidate nearing completion) is an asset, but not a requirement
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or project-based environments
- Strong background in full-cycle accounting, inventory accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Advanced ERP and Excel skills with experience reconciling data across CRM, project management, inventory, and accounting systems.
- Demonstrated ability to support internal controls, payroll processes, and operational financial reporting in a multi-division environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced analytical skills, coupled with excellent organizational skills
