This is a great opportunity for Canadian certified PSW's who are looking for CASUAL WEEKEND work. Schedule is every other weekend both sat and sun. We have a day time frame of 7am-3pm OR an afternoon time frame of 3pm-11pm. There is potential for pick up through the week as well if you provide additional availability, again these additional days are pick up only and not a part of your regular alternate weekend schedule.
This is a community visiting position (home to home) which includes 3 areas: Mississauga, Oakville and Etobicoke. You must be willing to work in all 3 areas and clients are grouped together to minimize your travel for the day. Visits are 1 hour long and then you move onto your next client home.
You MUST have a G or G2 drivers licence and a vehicle with insurance in YOUR name.
Again, this position is paid like it is a shift, meaning you are paid your full hourly wage for the entire time you are booked. We do not pay mileage as you are paid even while driving from home to home.
Requirements:
Must have a Canadian PSW certificate - no other certifications accepted
Must have a VULERABLE SECTOR police clearance from within the last 12 months
Valid CPR AND first aid certificate
A G or G2 driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle with insurance in your name
TB test results from within 12 months or chest x-ray from within 24 months
Own a cell phone with reliable data plan in order to clock in and out of visits
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to understand care plans and determine ways to implement them effectively
- Assist patients with ambulation, ROM activities (as per care plan) and positioning.
- As per care plan, provide them support in bathing, toileting, dressing and grooming, feeding and meal prep
- Perform light housekeeping; dusting, washing dishes, folding laundry & changing linens
- Ensure patient dignity by keeping personal and medical information confidential
- Be able to recognize emergency situations and the escalation processes in place to deal with those situations effectively.
