We are currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant (LA) in our Osler Works – Transactional Department (OWT). The successful candidate will work closely with our Law Clerks and other Legal Professionals, assisting on files dealing with corporate and transactional aspects related to our clients’ commercial operations. Along with superior multi-tasking, administrative and communication skills, the successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and provide excellent client service. Experience with Corporate law is considered an asset.

Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for client onboarding to the legal entity management platform, including scanning of relevant documentation from the company minute book, entering administrative data and uploading scanned documentation to the legal entity management software
- Responsible for general legal entity management software maintenance for clients, including responding to general questions, exporting certain documents or virtual minute books and providing assistance with updates
- Work closely with and provide support to the applicable Law Clerks on client and administrative matters
- Handle all administrative duties, including but not limited to, drafting letters, filing of documents and/or emails in the document management system scanning, processing incoming and outgoing mail and attending to other administrative duties, as required
- Undertake projects and other responsibilities, as assigned
Position Requirement
Education and Experience
The position requires the completion of a Community College diploma in Office, Legal or Business Administration plus a minimum of one to three years’ experience working in a professional services or legal environment. Experience with Corporate law is considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency with various applications, in particular MS Office Suite applications
- Knowledge of legal entity management software is an asset
- Understanding of business and legal terminology
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail, organized, and time management skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and large volumes of work
- Maintains high level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times
Compensation
The range of expected compensation for this position is $57,000 - 72,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
