Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team in Iqaluit, Nunavut. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas.
- Dusting furniture.
- Making beds and changing sheets, distributing clean towels.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cleaning tasks.
- Cleaning, disinfecting and polishing kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances.
- Picking up debris and emptying trash containers.
- Washing windows, walls and ceilings.
- Conduct thorough commercial cleaning of facilities, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized and well-maintained.
- Manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing any concerns or requests from facility occupants promptly and professionally.
- Handle heavy lifting when required, ensuring proper techniques are used to maintain safety.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members regarding cleaning schedules and any issues encountered.
- Perform waxing and carpet cleaning as required
- Driving from one work location to another.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proven experience in custodial roles or commercial cleaning environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed while adhering to safety protocols.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail in all cleaning duties.

Pay: $21.50-$22.50 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
