The IT Technician supports the reliable and efficient delivery of day-to-day technology services across Rubicon Organics. Working under the guidance of senior IT team members, this role provides responsive end-user.
support, maintains endpoint hardware and software, completes routine operational tasks, and documents solutions. By resolving common incidents, escalating complex or recurring issues, and helping employees use technology effectively, the role contributes to productivity, service continuity, and the organization’s security practices.
Based primarily at our Pacifica facility in Delta, BC, with travel to Hope and Downtown Vancouver several times per month, reporting to the Senior IT Manager.
What You’ll Do

Provide timely and courteous technical support to employees through email, phone, remote tools, and face-to-face communication.

Use the IT ticketing system to record, prioritize, troubleshoot, resolve, and document technology incidents and service requests within established service expectations.

Set up, configure, deploy, and support end-user devices, peripherals, applications, and user access using approved standards and procedures.

Perform routine updates, upgrades, and maintenance of endpoint devices using tools such as Microsoft Intune, NinjaOne, and other approved device-management platforms.

Troubleshoot common hardware, software, printing, connectivity, account, and endpoint-management issues, escalating more complex matters with complete and accurate information.

Monitor assigned endpoint, identity, and email-security alerts; complete initial investigation and escalate confirmed or higher-risk issues in accordance with IT procedures.

Support employee onboarding, role changes, and offboarding by preparing equipment, coordinating access, and completing assigned checklist activities.

Maintain accurate inventory and lifecycle records for IT hardware, software, accessories, and assigned equipment.

Create and maintain clear technical documentation, knowledge articles, setup instructions, and standard operating procedures for employees and the IT team.

Identify recurring incidents and service requests, communicate trends to senior IT team members, and contribute to practical improvements that reduce repeat issues.

Assist with testing and implementing approved changes to existing systems, applications, and workplace technology.

Work collaboratively with employees, vendors, and other departments to ensure users have the appropriate and secure technology tools to perform their work effectively.

Follow established IT policies, security practices, change controls, and escalation procedures, and assist with other IT operational tasks as assigned.
What You Bring

Post-secondary diploma, certificate, or degree in information technology, computer systems, networking, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education, training, and practical experience will be considered.

Up to two years of related experience in IT support, service desk, desktop support, or technology operations; relevant co-op, internship, practicum, or hands-on lab experience is valued.

Foundational knowledge of Windows and macOS devices, Microsoft 365 applications, user accounts, endpoint configuration, and common workplace hardware and software.

Basic understanding of networking concepts, including Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, switches, and access points.

Exposure to Cisco, Juniper, Ubiquiti, Aruba, pfSense networking equipment is an asset

Exposure to endpoint-management tools such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, NinjaOne, is an asset.

Awareness of cybersecurity fundamentals, including phishing, password and identity protection, device compliance, least-privilege access, and appropriate incident escalation.

Exposure to EDR/XDR tools such as Crowdstrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is an asset.

Ability to troubleshoot methodically, follow documented procedures, capture accurate details, and recognize then to seek assistance or escalate an issue.

Strong customer-service, communication, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users.

Demonstrated curiosity, attention to detail, discretion when handling confidential information, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft fundamentals, or equivalent training are assets but are not required.

A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle are required, as our Delta and Hope locations are not accessible by public transit.
