Job Description
As a Hydraulic Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Assembly and routing of hydraulic systems on our mobile heavy equipment using assembly drawing(s) and hydraulic schematics.
- Interactive partnership with a trainer/mentor.
- Testing Units to ensure proper function, pressure regulation, and absence of exterior leakage.
- Recognizing and addressing any incorrect function of the hydraulic hose routing or its components.
- Maintaining tools and equipment through our Lean initiatives.
- Recommending and implementing value added changes to processes.
- Motivated to participate in cross-training for other functions within the team.
- Compliance with our Health & Safety policies.
- Maintain an upbeat "Can Do" attitude towards teamwork and productivity while achieving deadlines within the team.
- Performing other essential and related peripheral duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent is required
- Education in Fluid Power Technician/Vocational School, and/or Hydraulic Specialist/Technologist an asset
- Ideally 3-5 years of hydraulic experience and/or assembly in a related production field.
- Good knowledge of hydraulic components, (valves, motors, cylinders, fittings, adapters, JIC, ORB, PIPE) including mounting and operation.
- High mechanical aptitude to use and operate hand and air tools to measure, cut, crimp hoses from #6 - #32.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and schematics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic that is highly detailed to support personal pride in a job well done.
- Good communication skills with regards to verbal, written and basic personal computer skills.
- Be in good physical shape - able to lift and move 50 lbs. on a regular basis, work up and down ladders, crouch into smaller spaces etc.
- Have a motivated, outgoing attitude and the ability to mesh well with teammates.
