AJ Renovations Inc. is looking to partner with an experienced, professional painter to help support our growing workload.
We are seeking an Experienced Residential Painter to join our team on a part-time contract or subcontract basis. This role involves delivering high-quality painting services for residential properties, ensuring customer satisfaction through attention to detail and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and painting, with the ability to interpret schematics and work efficiently within project timelines. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse residential projects, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools.
Please Note: This is not a full-time position and is not an employee role. We are looking to establish a relationship with an experienced independent contractor who is available on an as-needed basis.
There are two opportunities available:
- Hourly Contract Work: Work alongside AJ Renovations on various painting projects as required. This is hourly contract work, and you will be paid for labour only. You will be engaged as an independent subcontractor, not an employee.
- Project Subcontracting: Take on complete painting projects independently under a subcontract agreement.

For project subcontractors, AJ Renovations will expect a clearly defined scope of work before the project begins.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint, stain, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision and care
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute projects accurately
- Perform restoration work as needed, including matching existing finishes and textures
- Use rigging techniques for elevated or hard-to-reach areas safely and effectively
- Operate hand tools and power tools such as drills, sanders, and spray guns efficiently
- Manage time effectively to complete projects within scheduled deadlines
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly dispose of waste materials
- Communicate clearly with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential painting, construction painting, or industrial painting environments
- Strong knowledge of restoration techniques, caulking, carpentry, and schematics reading
- Familiarity with commercial painting practices is a plus
- Ability to operate various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Construction experience with skills in rigging and working at heights preferred
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects efficiently
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for precise project execution
- Experience with industrial painting or working with schematics is advantageous
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude
This position is ideal for skilled painters looking for flexible part-time work on residential projects while utilizing their construction expertise.
Pay starts at $25 but am willing to pay for quality! Open to negotiation.
