Maintenance Supervisor
Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of the hotel property. This role ensures that all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and building systems operate seamlessly to maximize guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with broad handyman skills across plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Work closely with the Guest Service Agents and the Housekeeping supervisor to ensure rooms are ready for sale and the highest possible revenue is being generated depending on the time of year.
Duties
- Guest Room Repairs: Troubleshoot and resolve room deficiencies reported by guests or housekeeping, including fixing furniture, lighting fixtures, leaky faucets, smart TVs, and door locks.
- Preventative Maintenance: Execute the hotel’s routine preventative maintenance schedule for rooms, PTAC/HVAC units, and major kitchen or laundry appliances.
- System Monitoring: Perform daily property walks to inspect mechanical systems, exterior lighting, and safety infrastructure.
- Facility Aesthetics: Carry out general carpentry, drywall patching, caulking, and detail-oriented painting or wallpaper touch-ups.
- Pool & Spa Upkeep: Test, log, and balance water chemicals daily while maintaining pumps, filters, and safety signage (for properties with water amenities).
- Grounds Maintenance: Keep exterior perimeters clean by removing trash, maintaining basic landscaping, and handling seasonal needs like snow removal or winterization.
- Safety Compliance: Inspect and test, emergency exits, and emergency lighting to guarantee full compliance with local safety codes.
- Vendor Coordination: Escort and assist specialized third-party contractors for major repairs or certified inspections.
- Emergency Response & Teamwork - Jump into action during unexpected issues like power outages or leaks. Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and other departments to minimize disruptions. Be a reliable, solutions-focused team member when it matters most

- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Work indoors and outdoors, including in variable or environments
- Spend extended periods standing, walking, and climbing ladders
- Work around noise, dust, and temperature changes
What You Bring
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Previous maintenance or handyman experience preferred
- Knowledge of building maintenance is required
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Whirlpool/pool maintenance experience is an asset—but we’re happy to train the right person
- Strong troubleshooting ability and critical thinking skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable with physical tasks like lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends (required), evenings, and holidays
