Delco Water is seeking a Field Service Maintenance Engineer to join our Saskatoon-based Field Service Team. This role is ideal for a technically driven engineer who excels in hands-on work, enjoys travel, and takes pride in ensuring the long-term reliability of critical water and wastewater infrastructure.
Working from our Saskatoon headquarters, the successful candidate would support municipal, industrial, and First Nations clients across Western Canada. Your primary focus will be Asset Lifecycle Management, ensuring that advanced treatment technologies including Biological Filtration, UF/RO membrane systems, and complex wastewater processes operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Important Note: this position is based in Saskatoon, SK but requires frequent travel around Western Canada including SK, MB, AB, and BC.

Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Technical Service
- Lead scheduled on-site service visits to perform system health assessments, equipment calibration, and preventative maintenance.
- Execute Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures to maintain membrane performance and long-term system reliability.
Engineering Documentation
- Prepare detailed field reports documenting system performance, maintenance activities and calibration results.
- Ensure all actions meet provincial regulatory requirements and provide clients with verified operational records.
Instrumentation, Controls & Automation
- Calibrate and troubleshoot key process instruments such as turbidity, pH, and chlorine analyzers.
- Perform minor PLD/HMI adjustments to support accurate automation, alarm functionality, and system data integrity.
Advanced Troubleshooting
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and process issues using on-site analysts and remote monitoring tools.
- Work to minimize plant downtime through efficient, structured problem resolution.
Operator Training & Support
- Deliver hands-on training, mentorship, and guidance to plant operators to enhance operations and system reliability.
Required Qualifications
Education & Professional Standing
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized Canadian institution.
- Eligibility for EIT or P.Eng. registration with APEGS (or equivalent).
- Instrumentation Engineering Technologists with industrial experience are also encouraged to apply.
Skills & Attributes
- Technical aptitude and strong hands-on troubleshooting skills.
- Clear communication skills with capability of building trust with clients and collaborating with the Saskatoon team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel approximately 75% throughout Western Canada (company vehicle provided).
