Meadow Valley Meats, a well-established, growing Processing and Distribution Company, is looking for a Full-time Meat Packager/Production Worker to join our team and bring their passion and energy to this position.
Meadow Valley Meats has been a supplier of quality meats to wholesale and retail customers in BC for over 50 years. Locally owned & based in Chilliwack, our wholesale service stretches from the Lower Mainland, across BC and to points east of BC. Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Packing various cuts of meat and trim into bags
- Box and label meat
- Product quality checks: specification, packaging, produce, seal integrity
- Report any quality defects during production
- Understand & follow safe work procedures
- Load product into coolers
- Operate and maintain machinery and production line equipment
- Dispose of garbage including boxes and bags
- Perform other production line duties as assigned
- Work cooperatively with the production team to meet daily quotas and goals
- Other duties, as assigned by Production Manager
Requirements
- Experience in the food industry is an asset
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Physically fit, able to lift, push and/or pull weight up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Basic computer skills
