Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Store Assistant to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and assisting with store operations. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, as well as the ability to engage customers through product demos and upselling techniques. Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately and quickly
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with accuracy and professionalism
- Maintain store merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Conduct product demos to promote new or featured items and encourage upselling opportunities
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Uphold phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone
- Support store operations by supervising team members when needed and ensuring smooth daily functions
- Engage customers through effective communication skills, including bilingual support if applicable
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred; familiarity with POS systems is essential
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
- Ability to perform cashier duties accurately while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demos is desirable
- Supervising experience is a plus but not required; leadership qualities are appreciated
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills necessary for effective customer interactions
- Prior experience in grocery stores or retail environments preferred but not mandatory
