Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive repair and maintenance, with a strong background in working with various types of machinery and equipment. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Candidates with dealership experience, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and schematics will excel in this position. The Automotive Mechanic will contribute to our commitment to quality service and operational excellence.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles and industrial equipment using schematics and testing tools
- Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, HVAC units, and other vehicle components
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery for repairs and maintenance
- Operate heavy equipment safely including Caterpillar machines, industrial equipment, and other heavy-duty machinery
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid replacements, and system inspections
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using technical manuals and schematics
- Assist in the assembly or disassembly of vehicle parts or industrial components as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety compliance
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and efficiently
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and industrial equipment maintenance
- Dealership experience is highly desirable
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics
- Experience operating heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, HVAC systems, and other industrial equipment
- Mechanical knowledge of engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and general vehicle systems
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with customer service orientation
- Valid driver’s license preferred; relevant certifications or licenses are a plus
