- Job Summary
- We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated 1st or 2nd-Year Apprentice Carpenter to join our home building and renovation company in the Mission, BC area. Working directly under the supervision of carpenters, you will assist with framing, formwork, and finishing, while building your foundational skillset. This role is perfect for a motivated, physically fit individual eager to learn the trade and grow their career in residential or commercial construction.
- Key Responsibilities
- Assist Crew: Help senior carpenters with layout, measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and composite materials.
- Site Preparation: Keep job sites clean, organized, and free of hazards to ensure a safe workspace.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and safely transport building materials around the job site.
- Structural Support: Assist with building wall frameworks, floor systems, and concrete formwork.
- Finish Work: Help install interior/exterior trim, doors, molding, and hardware as your skills progress.
- Tool Operation: Learn to safely operate, maintain, and store hand and power tools.
- Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Registered 1st or 2nd-year Carpentry Apprentice (or equivalent hands-on experience and a strong desire to register).
- Physical Capability: Ability to perform heavy manual labor, lift up to 50–75 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Skills: Strong basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions; mechanical aptitude and strong hand-eye coordination.
- Work Ethic: Punctual, reliable, and highly receptive to direction and constructive feedback from senior tradespeople.
- Gear: Basic personal carpentry hand tools (e.g., tape measure, hammer, tool belt) and your own reliable transportation to sites in the Mission/Fraser Valley area.
