Position Summary
Burke Group is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Accounting team in Edmonton. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our day-to-day financial operations by processing invoices, maintaining vendor accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely payments.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering accurate and efficient results.
Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Verify invoice approvals, coding, and supporting documentation.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents where applicable.
- Prepare and process payment runs, including EFTs, cheques, and credit card transactions.
- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and files.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure payments are made according to agreed terms.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice and payment issues.
- Support the Accounting team with administrative and ad hoc projects as required.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting and accounts payable principles.
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or similar accounting role preferred.
- Experience using Sage 300 (formerly Accpac) is required/preferred.
- Strong understanding of invoicing and related financial processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.

Pay: $45,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
