We are recruiting for a live-in caregiver on behalf of a female private employer with dementia, a TBI, who is blind, and has arthritis to assist with all activities of daily living.
The employer enjoys shopping, swimming, time with family and is very social, easy-going, and full of energy!
Location:
- Victoria (Westshore Town Centre)
Shifts and Hours:
- Live in once a month for 2 days a week
- Friday 5:00pm to Sunday 5:00pm
- Specific weekend can be discussed
Compensation:
- $360 per day for 2 nights a month
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Assist with dressing, bathing, showering, and personal hygiene
- Assist with medication administration
- Meal preparation daily
- Laundry and light housekeeping
- The employer is prone to verbal outbursts when she is confused or irritated; She is calmed quickly with reassurance and redirecting.
- The employer is a smoker
Qualifications:
- Experience with dementia and redirection (preferred)
- Experience with brain injury care (preferred)
- Must be comfortable working in an environment with a pet cat
- Companionship experience
- Willing to be trained
- Must be okay working in an environment where the employer is a smoker
