The Town of Allan is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Recreation and Childcare Programs Coordinator to deliver high-quality recreation and childcare programming, including the Before and After School Care (BASC) Program, Summer Fun Program, youth programs, and community recreation opportunities.
Role of the Coordinator
The Recreation and Childcare Programs Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, promoting, and evaluating programs that support children, youth, families, and the broader community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate recreation programs and activities for children, youth, adults, and families.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Before and After School Program and Summer Fun Program, including age-appropriate programming, enrollment, attendance records, and communication with families and schools.
- Research and implement new program ideas to meet community needs and increase participation.
- Prepare program schedules, calendars, statistics, reports, and promotional materials.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to recreation and childcare staff and volunteers.
- Maintain accurate program records, registrations, documentation, and participant information.
- Assist with purchasing, supplies, and program budget tracking.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, schools, community organizations, and residents.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure programs are delivered safely and in accordance with Town policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working with school-aged children in childcare, recreation, education, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate programming.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and manage multiple priorities.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence and reliable transportation.
- Early Childhood Education Level 1, Educational Assistant Certificate, Recreation and Leisure Studies, or related education is considered an asset

Reporting To: Recreation Director
Schedule: Monday to Friday
