Our team is currently searching for a hard working, friendly, self-motivated individual, who is willing to work in a very fast-paced outpatient Dermatology Clinic with high volumes of patients.
The successful candidate must be able to work well both independently and as a team member, have excellent interpersonal skills, and possess an eagerness to learn the skills and knowledge required to provide outstanding care to our Dermatology patients. Being able to problem solve and being detail oriented is essential.
The LPN will be responsible for the following duties:
· Obtain written consent and assist Dermatologists with medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatologic procedures
· Particular responsibilities include patient education on Dermatology medications and procedures, communicating post-procedure care instructions, and assisting with cryotherapy treatments, injections, suture removal, phototherapy, venipuncture, phlebotomy, among others and being knowledgeable on all services, products and procedures we offer at the clinic.
· Understand and practice within the scope of a Dermatology practice
· Acknowledge and implement physician orders within the guidelines of the practice
· Prepare pathological specimens and laboratory duties as required
· Sterilize surgical/medical equipment
· Keep up-to-date pathology logbook records
· Deliver accurate documentation of nursing care in patient record (Accuro EMR)
· Maintain communication with other members of the healthcare and administrative/management team
· Take patient phone calls when required or as necessary
· Communicate laboratory and pathology results to patients
· Assist with triaging patient referrals
. Perform other duties as requested by Dermatologists
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
· Licensed with the Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses
· Practice Nursing diploma
· CPR/First Aid Certification
· Minimum 1-year experience as an active LPN
· Criminal record check (including vulnerable sector screening)
· Knowledge of sterilization processes for medical/surgical equipment
. Experience giving injections is required
*Experience as a Dermatology nurse considered an asset
*Ability to perform PHLEBOTOMY would be an asset
*Experience in RESEARCH would be an asset
*Minimum 1-year experience working on Accuro EMR platform would be an asset
· Knowledge and understanding of dermatological procedures/treatments and equipment in medical, surgical and cosmetic settings considered an asset, although training will be provided
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently, as well as in a team-focused environment
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
