Career Contacts is hiring on behalf of our client for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join their team in Richmond, BC. Our client is seeking a strategic HR leader who will work closely with senior and executive stakeholders to connect organizational priorities with effective people and workforce strategies.
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, this role is designed for someone who brings strong business insight, sound judgment, and the ability to influence at senior levels. The successful candidate will contribute to long-term workforce planning, leadership development, and the cultivation of a high-performing and inclusive workplace culture.
Working within a unionized setting, this position plays a critical role in supporting constructive labour relationships while advancing progressive people practices. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating complexity, balancing strategic initiatives with operational execution, and driving meaningful organizational change.

Hours: Monday – Friday
Pay: $120,000 to $130,000 per year (based on experience) plus bonuses

Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders on workforce planning, labour relations, and organizational effectiveness
- Translate business goals into integrated HR and talent strategies
- Provide expert guidance on complex employee and labour relations issues, including collective agreement interpretation, investigations, and corrective action
- Partner with leaders to strengthen leadership capability, accountability, and team performance
- Contribute to the development and ongoing enhancement of organization-wide HR programs and policies, including performance management, succession planning, workforce planning, engagement, and DEIB initiatives
- Support large-scale organizational change and transformation initiatives as a key HR partner
- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects aligned with corporate and people strategies
- Analyze workforce and engagement data to identify patterns, assess impact, and recommend practical actions
- Support the development of the broader HR team through mentorship and knowledge sharing
Requirements:
- 10 years of progressive senior-level HR experience within a unionized environment
- CPHR designation and a bachelors degree in Human Resources or Business, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience
- Strong background in labour relations, including experience advising leaders and resolving complex employee issues
- Well-developed business acumen with the ability to align people strategies with operational objectives
- Demonstrated success acting as a trusted advisor to senior and executive leadership
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven ability to lead change and manage complex projects
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, matrixed organization
