DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be very familiar with all safe work practices as set out by IHSA and company standards and work in conformity thereto
- Assemble, install, and maintain all revenue metering installations, including A Base and S Base meters, meter panels, both single phase, three phase all associated instrument transformers and wiring
- Installing and removing of power quality equipment
- Inform customers of service requirements, energy savings measures, power factor correction and other public relation services as required
- Liaise with customers and Measurement Canada for metering disputes
- Liaise/resolve issues with contractors/electricians as it pertains to Elexicon metering requirements and configurations
- Document and verify all repair work with the contract meter shops as required
- Issue, return and scrap all inventory material and equipment to and from the field. Dismantle and inspect returned material to inventory or scrap
- Prepare and investigate inventory discrepancies and perform inventory cycle counts on a monthly basis.
- Assemble, install and maintain all FIT/MicroFIT metering installations including communication platform
- Maintain accurate records on metering installations; ensure their continued accuracy and coordinate timely reverification of metering in accordance with requirements of Measurement Canada and Elexicon Connections. Update records on Elexicon’s information system (NorthStar), shares drive, etc., for new and existing meter installations
- Troubleshoot electrical problems regarding metering services
- Installation and troubleshooting communication problems regarding metering services (phone lines, wireless modem networks, proprietary LAN networks). Ensuring metering is functioning within the SLA’s with both the Billing and Wholesale Settlements groups. Routine crossphasing analysis of complex polyphase metering installations as per Elexicon’s requirements. Including documentation of testing results and reconciliation of results with the Wholesale Settlements group
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong computer software and hardware skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel)
- Knowledge of communication systems (phone lines, wireless modem networks, proprietary LAN networks)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- College diploma in Electrical Engineering at the Technician or Technologist level eligible for O.A.C.E.T.T. accreditation
- Completion of Metering Journeyperson Certificate
- 3 to 5 years relevant experience
Compensation Package: Hourly rate $55.84, as per our collective agreement with Power Worker's Union (PWU) + Benefits + OMERS Pension Plan
The above range reflects the reasonable estimate for the position at the time of posting. Within the range, hiring compensation will be determined based on relevant qualifications, experience, skillset, education/ training, and other organizational needs.
